Imagine you are a Parisian student in the 1950s and learn intermediate French through a role-playing simulation. You will express opinions, beliefs, doubts, and emotions about then-current films, newspaper articles, short texts, or political and social issues. You will explore the city of Paris from the perspective of your role-play character and discuss your "real" and "surreal" experiences with your classmates.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Students will understand announcements, simple audio interviews, short presentations and videos, provided that they know something about the subject and that the presenter talks slowly and clearly.
  2. Students will understand the main points and the important details in stories, simple articles, and announcements of a certain length.
  3. Students will write simple and coherent texts on topics that are familiar or of personal interest, personal letters or emails to briefly express their opinion (based on their experience) or give advice.
  4. Students will talk about familiar subjects that interest them and interact with people using standard language in a relatively long discussion on everyday subjects.
